MUST READ TIPS

  • NEVER tighten an empty collet.

  • NEVER turn the spindle on with a loose collet.

    • Therefore before turning the spindle on either insert a tool and tighten the collet nut, or remove the collet nut and collet.

  • NEVER put a tool with a shank bigger or smaller than the collet's clamping range

    • Metric collets have a 1mm clamping range

      • if there is only 1 number on the collet this is the max shank diameter, the minimum shank diameter would be 1mm smaller.

  • ALWAYS insert the ER collet into the collet nut first and make sure it clicks in
